ROI Research Results and More at the ASTRO Annual Meeting

ROI-funded researchers are presenting twelve abstracts at the ASTRO Annual Meeting in San Antonio. This record number of abstracts at a single meeting is a testament to the growing success of the ROI’s research program, which was launched just over a decade ago. The abstracts cover a range of disease sites and a wide variety of topics from artificial intelligence to workforce diversity. A schedule of the abstracts is included below, and all Annual Meeting attendees are encouraged to go see the presentations to hear about the results of the innovative studies that ROI researchers are conducting.
 
Annual Meeting attendees are invited to stop by the ROI booth in the Main Lobby of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center to talk with ROI leaders and staff. Visitors can watch videos of recent award winners and pick up copies of materials like the current “A New Era of RT” request for proposals (RFP) and the just released “Communicating the External Beam Radiotherapy Experience (CEBRE)” discussion guides for central nervous system, gastrointestinal, and head and neck cancers.
 
On Sunday, October 23 at 4:00 p.m. Central time, ROI is hosting an information session about the “New Era of RT” RFP for residents attending the Annual Meeting. Leaders of the ROI Research Committee and grantees who won ROI awards as residents will be on hand to talk with those interested in applying for the research funding opportunity.
